We had a great turnout for our Grandfriends' Day event and loved having our grandfriends on campus!
Thank you all for another great week at Clarkston!

Open House:
Join us for Open House on Wednesday, September 17th, from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Please make plans to join us and learn more about academic expectations for all grade levels & how you can best support your student this year! Families in attendance will be entered to win a family fun basket courtesy of Rose Heights Church!
Leader in Me Family Survey:
Parents--please take a few minutes to complete this family survey! Your input is valued and used to plan how we can better meet the needs of our families. Thank you for responding! https://www.leaderinme.com/s/clarkston-elementary-tx/families
Saddle Up, It's Rodeo Day!:
East Texas State Fair Roundup Day is Friday, Sept. 19th. Get ready to kick off the excitement for the East Texas State Fair with Roundup Day! This day is a fun, community-wide celebration and opportunity for our students to show their school pride by dressing in Western-themed attire like cowboy boots, plaid shirts, jeans, and hats. Please help your student get into the spirit by encouraging them to wear their best Western outfit on Sept. 19th!
Gifted & Talented Referral Window:
The GATE(Gifted & Talented Education) department will host an informational night for parents to learn about our referral and screening process on Tuesday, September 23, at the CTC from 5pm to 6pm. See flyer below for more details.
Student-led Conference Night:
Please make plans to join us on October 16, 2025 from 5:30pm-6:30pm. As part of our Title I Parent/School compact, we are required to give parents regular updates on student growth an performance. During student-led conference night, your student will take you through their progress so far this year and will discuss with you their academic strengths and what they need, support wise. Teachers will also be in classrooms to answer any questions and support. All parents must have a conference with student/teacher in the fall. Any parent not in attendance at this event will be required to come to school, on a day scheduled by the teacher, to discuss student progress so far this year. Your attendance on student-led conference night prevents you from having to come up to the school during the work day!
Grade Level Newsletters:
All of our grade levels provide a printed, monthly newsletter to families. Our newsletters are designed to keep families informed of the learning and events happening in our classrooms each month. Please use the link here to access grade level newsletters, if you are needing an electronic copy. Click on your student's grade level in this folder to access the newsletter for your student.
Clarkston Spirit Night @Rose Stadium:
Please join us as we cheer on our Tyler Legacy Red Raiders as they face Rockwall-Heath on Friday, October 17th! Students will meet Mrs. Cureton, Mrs. King, & other Clarkston staff members at the gates to enter the field @6:30pm. More details to come as the date approaches!
Have a great weekend!
