October is quickly approaching and we are excited for the many events going on in October! Student-led Conference night happens October 16th from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Please make plans to come to this event! At this event, students will share their data notebooks with families--inside you will find their learning goals, progress so far this year, and student reflections on their learning. You will also have time to ask any questions needed about student progress and how you can help at home. We are excited to meet with you and share your student's beginning of the year data and goals for the school year! Any families not in attendance at Student-led conferences will have a meeting, during the school day, with teachers to go over student data.
Fall pictures are next week!
Friday, October 3rd, is our district-wide College Colors Day! We encourage all of our students to wear their favorite college/technical school/military shirt.
Note: Staff/student holiday--no school: October 10th; student holiday--no school for students: October 13th
Bubba's 33: A huge THANK YOU! to Bubba's 33 in Tyler! They are providing pizza, merch, and coupons to give to our pre-k classes as a part of our Rock Your School day on Friday, October 3rd. Student-led Conference Night:
Please make plans to join us on October 16, 2025 from 5:30pm-6:30pm. As part of our Title I Parent/School compact, we are required to give parents regular updates on student growth an performance. During student-led conference night, your student will take you through their progress so far this year and will discuss with you their academic strengths and what they need, support wise. Teachers will also be in classrooms to answer any questions and support. All parents must have a conference with student/teacher in the fall. Any parent not in attendance at this event will be required to come to school, on a day scheduled by the teacher, to discuss student progress so far this year. Your attendance on student-led conference night prevents you from having to come up to the school during the work day!
Book Fair: The book fair is coming October 14th-17th! We will have a special, late night shopping night during student-led conferences on October 16th. We hope you will join us and shop the book fair!
Fall Festival:
PTA is collecting bags of individually wrapped candy for our Fall Festival! If you are able to donate a bag of candy for the festival, please send with your student to school. We will be collecting bags of candy from Monday, September 29th--Thursday, October 23rd.
Fall Festival, sponsored by PTA, will take place on Friday, October 24th from 5:30pm-7:00pm in the Clarkston front parking lot. This year's event will be bigger than years past and we are excited to have all of our families with us for this event! Concessions, train rides, and the dunk tank will be sold for a small cost, but trunk or treat and the games are free to all in attendance! See flyer below for more details.
