As we edge closer to Thanksgiving break, I would like to send a shoutout of gratitude to our families for your support. Whether that's answering our calls during the day, sending donations for fall festival, writing a quick shoutout for our staff, donating for staff treats, supporting school fundraisers, or helping support your student's learning at home, what you are doing makes a difference for your student at school. As we are continuing to partner with you throughout this school year, please reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions or need more guidance on how you can best support your student at school.
Also, thank you for your support and understanding in getting your student to school no later than 7:50am and ensuring that you are not dropping students off at the cafe doors after 7:50am. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our students safe at arrival.
Be sure to join us for our annual PTA Family Movie Night!
PTA Movie Night--Nov 14th:
We can't wait for our annual Movie Night in the cafe! Bring your family, lawn chairs, and blankets and come watch the movie Encanto with us! We hope all of our families come out for this free event! PTA will have concession items available for purchase. Get there early to get a great seat--doors open at 5:30pm & movie starts at 6:00pm.
PTA Reflections Art Contest:
Texas PTA is now accepting entries for their annual Reflections Art Contest. This year's theme is "I Belong". Students can submit artwork in dance choreography, visual arts, photography, music composition, literature, and film production. If you are interested in your child participating, entry forms are with Ms. Katie-our art teacher--please reach out to Ms. Katie at kathryn.robinson@tylerisd.org, reach out to PTA at clarkstoncougarpta@gmail.com, or have your student grab an entry form from the art room at school. All entries must be turned in by November 20th.
Grade Level Newsletters:
All of our grade levels provide a printed, monthly newsletter to families. Our newsletters are designed to keep families informed of the learning and events happening in our classrooms each month. Please use the link hereto access grade level newsletters, if you are needing an electronic copy. Click on your student's grade level in this folder to access the newsletter for your student.
5th grade families: check out the STEM Night at Moore Middle School next week! A great way for you and your families to explore the options Moore Middle School has for your student's middle school experience!
3rd-5th Grades: Special Guests in Specials--Nov 18th
I am so excited for this new opportunity for our students and families this year! Our student lighthouse team (compromised by a group of 3rd-5th grade leaders on campus) wanted to find a way to have families experience more of their school day with them--in particular specials (art, music, PE) classes! We are inviting all 3rd-5th grade parents/guardians out to experience specials time with their student on November 18th, during grade level specials time. Students and their guests will rotate through each specials class, during their grade level specials time, and participate in an activity for that class.
We will do this same event for our Pre-K -- 2nd grade classes during the spring semester...be on the lookout for a spring date once we return from Winter Break!
Have a great weekend!
