We've had a great week of learning & are looking forward to having families on campus next week at our annual Living Wax Museum!
Please join us as your student (pk-5) shares their learning and takes the role of an important figure in history. Our pre-k, kinder, & first classrooms will share information on their group projects while our 2nd-5th classrooms will showcase their individual projects.
Pre-k--2nd grade students present 5:30pm--6:00pm; 3rd-5th grade students present 6:00pm-6:30pm. If you have any questions about this event, please contact your student's teacher.
Parent Support Session:
Need help with: accessing your student's grades, connecting to Class Dojo, setting up Beanstack, setting up notifications for student grades, or getting your student's Read-A-Thon account started? Join us, from 5:15pm-6:30pm on Thursday, February 19th (during the Living Wax Museum event), in the library. Mrs. Kinney, our media technology specialist, will be available to help you connect! Please bring the electronic device you use at home to access your student's school information.
Read-A-Thon--Starts NEXT WEEK!
Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday February 16, 2026.
The week before our Read-A-Thon starts, we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/oGNrpS/1?utm=email and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope EVERYONE participates!
Living Wax Museum:
We are honored to recognize Black History Month with our students as they present their research on a historical figure, of their choosing, at our Living Wax Museum on Thursday, February 19, 2025, from 5:30pm-6:30pm. See the flyer below for more details. Contact your child's teacher if you have any additional questions. Please make plans to join us!
Student Transfers for the 26-27 School year:
If you are not zoned to our campus and have a student (that is not currently enrolled at Clarkston) that would like to attend school at Clarkston next year, please make sure to complete a transfer application for the 26-27 school year online. Online transfer applications are new this year--we will no longer have paper transfer application. You can access the application online here. https://www.tylerisd.org/page/student-transfers The application window closes February 28th.
26-27 School Year Pre-K Families: if you have a student of pre-k age for the 26-27 school year, see the flyer below for a pre-k family night!
Grade Level Newsletters:
All of our grade levels provide a printed, monthly newsletter to families. Our newsletters are designed to keep families informed of the learning and events happening in our classrooms each month. Please use the link here to access grade level newsletters, if you are needing an electronic copy. Click on your student's grade level in this folder to access the newsletter for your student.
