Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!
We've had a great first 3 days of instruction! Thank you, families, for sharing your amazing kids with us each day! It has been our absolute pleasure getting to know all of our new kids and families & see our returning families this week.
We are so glad you and your family have chosen Clarkston and entrusted us with your most precious gifts-your kids!
Student Handbook: I also want to provide an electronic copy of the student handbook flyer. Please review the important details of this flyer and use the QR code on the flyer to review the handbook, in-depth, if you need or want additional details. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IGmX74XK6nKskRtUCHMg12tSJ7VS6V1UbYzHJmuxc9k/edit?usp=sharing
Discipline: I want to provide all of our families with a link to view our discipline flowchart that is used school-wide, in all pre-k--5th grade classrooms. Please take a moment to review, with your child, so that we can partner together to ensure that all of our students understand the importance of doing their best at school and the consequences that will follow if behavior expectations are not met. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IuxPyuxmasdTLoamc0LU5YJ8QFSN8BBU/view?usp=sharing
Title I Family-School Compact: Clarkston is a Title I campus and receives federal funding to enrich the student experience on our campus through student-choice clubs, data tracking, individualized instruction, and other activities/events to best support our students. All students were provided a copy of this form upon enrollment or Meet the Teacher Night. Electronic copy here if you would like to view: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UVRfJuyjUJT9jHj3-VJiPWDY1hm2s_aJ/view?usp=sharing
Grandfriends' Day: Calling all grandfriends! We can't wait for you to join us during grade level lunch times for quality time & games! If you have a grandfriend that would like to attend, we encourage them to come to the front office the day before to have their license scanned for quicker entry on the day of the event! See flyer below for more details & grade level lunch times.
Campus Visitors:
Parents/Guardians are welcome to join their student(s) during lunch times only. Any visitors to campus must enter through the front office, have a valid ID, and obtain a visitors badge to enter the building.
Arrival Procedures:
Morning drop off is located at our cafeteria doors on Fairfax. All students should enter campus through the cafeteria doors each morning. Only students and staff are allowed to enter through the cafeteria doors. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria, and is free to all students, from 7:00am-7:45am. Any student arriving to campus after 7:50am will need to have a parent walk them in through the front entrance doors.
Dismissal Procedures:
Parents should complete an After-School Action Plan(with classroom teacher) so that teachers and staff have a written plan for each student. Parents must call the front office or submit a written request for student dismissal changes by 2:30 p.m. each day.
Students in grades pre-k, kindergarten, and first will not be allowed to dismiss as "walkers". They must have an older sibling at Clarkston to walk home with them. Parents/guardians that are meeting walking students may meet their students at the stop sign on the corner of Pinecrest and Williamsburg Drive.
Parents may pick up their child by signing him/her out through the office (before 2:30pm). Students will be released only to persons listed for student pick-up. Anyone picking up a student shall be required to show valid identification. When possible, schedule appointments during non-school times (After school, Student Holidays…)
Grade Level Newsletters:
All of our grade levels provide a printed, monthly newsletter to families. Our newsletters are designed to keep families informed of the learning and events happening in our classrooms each month. Please use the link here to access grade level newsletters, if you are needing an electronic copy. Click on your student's grade level in this folder to access the newsletter for your student.
Have a great weekend!
